adesso collaborated with Spelsberg to create a cloud platform that brings an unconventional product into the digital realm: networked bicycle charging stations (BCS) that let e-bike riders charge up without carrying a personal charger. Through this platform, users can view station data, analyze operational status and even manage individual charging points, accessible via an app or web-based portal.
Spelsberg’s solution is tailored for sectors such as hospitality, where providing e-bike charging facilities is becoming a customer-friendly amenity. The cloud solution ensures centralized control, detailed statistics and access restrictions to optimize the charging process for both the provider and the end user.
Charging-station data – for instance, information about available charging slots – can be shared via an API, making it straightforward to incorporate updates into external systems such as navigation tools.
Beyond immediate station usage, the collected data can deliver valuable insights for marketing and customer analyses. While further innovations remain under wraps, these statistics present a wide array of possibilities.
This IoT environment runs on the com2m Smart Product Platform, which connects the charging stations through mobile networks and offers tailored functions and processes. Deployed on Microsoft Azure, the solution features Angular for its dashboard front end, enabling efficient management of the entire charging infrastructure.
